I have the wonderful job of translating imagination into words.
I started my debut book, Forgive Us, when I was 16 and published it 18 months later. The 2021 San Francisco Book Festival and 2021 Fiction Awards awarded Forgive Us Best Sci-Fi and Best Post-Apocalyptic Book, respectively. I wrote Abandon Us, the prequel to Forgive Us the year after, and followed up the Odemark series (Ödemark means "wasteland" in Swedish) with Remember Us in April 2023. My books are available at major book resellers.
I'm currently working on my high-fantasy book series, starting with The Salt March.
Born and raised in the Rocky Mountains (9,000 feet altitude!), I reside in southern Sweden with my dwarfed Cane Corso Freyja and a lifelong interest in Norse myth and culture. A storyteller from an early age, I spent my formative years developing my writing skills on international roleplay sites.
I have several interests outside of writing. I've trained with two different Olympic squads, can call myself an expert in Norse mythology, a drag racer, an experimental cook, a woodcarver, an avid action roleplay gamer, a Judo brown belt, and a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu purple belt.

Andrew Hall and I talk about many different subjects such as schooling, martial arts, Norse religion, and, of course, Forgive Us plus the post-apocalyptic genre.
One of my first TV interviews. This type of interview goes by incredibly fast. Naturally, we speak about Forgive Us.
My first radio interview. It was a very different experience.
"I am such a fan of how Gunnarsson created his characters. Each character feels like a real person who is reacting in a real way to the horrific situations they are in. Each reaction, conversation, and decision feel plausible and realistic."
I talk with 411 TEEN about the challenges related to dysgraphia and my different accomplishments. I hope to inspire others that have trouble with using pens/pencils/brushes to write.
